The Ocean Modern take
Poul Kjærholm called this 1965 design the Hammock Chair, and the name fits: a sinuous steel frame suspends a handwoven wicker seat with no hardware, only gravity, letting it glide to your preferred angle. A leather head cushion with a stainless steel counterweight completes its weightless line.
Style itGive it a spare white room facing the sea, with nothing beside it but a sculptural ceramic vessel.

From the maker
The PK24™ Wicker Lounge Chair (1965) by designer and architect Poul Kjærholm represents a dynamic moment in Danish design. A trained cabinetmaker, Kjærholm created this comfortable, sinuous marvel of engineering using a streamlined, organically curved steel frame. Perhaps the most recognizable of his chairs, the PK24 was inspired by the Rococo period and French chaise longues, but reinterpreted with modern clarity.— Design Within Reach
