About Ocean Modern Home
Ocean Modern Home began with one question: if you were furnishing a modern house on the coast, where would you start?
The answer is rarely a single store. The best sofas, the best tables, the best woven chairs are spread across dozens of makers, from design-icon houses like Design Within Reach and Herman Miller to studios building every piece to order. We do the looking so you don’t have to: 292 pieces from 14 makers, each chosen by hand for its design, its materials and how it lives in a home near the water.
We don’t sell furniture. Every piece links straight to the maker or an authorised retailer, where you can see every fabric, finish and size and buy directly. When you do, the retailer may pay us a small commission. It never changes your price, and it never decides what we feature. (More on how that works.)

Do you sell furniture?
No. Ocean Modern Home is an editorial site. Every “Shop” button takes you to the brand or an authorised retailer, and you buy directly from them.
Do I pay more when I buy through your links?
Never. The price is the retailer’s price. Some retailers pay us a small commission when you buy through our links, which keeps the site independent.
How do you choose what to feature?
Our editors choose every piece for its design, its materials and how it lives in a home near the water. Brands cannot pay to be included.
Why does the price on the brand’s site differ?
Prices change with fabric, finish, size and promotions. We show the starting price we last checked; the retailer’s site is always the final word.
Something I wanted is gone. What happened?
We re-check every link regularly and remove pieces that are discontinued or no longer available. Email us if you spot one we missed.
